PRIVACYPOLICY

Last updated: March 31st, 2026

OVERVIEW

This Privacy Policy describes how the History Auto-Delete Chrome Extension ("we," "our," "us," or "the Extension") handles user information. History Auto-Delete is committed to protecting your privacy. The Extension is designed with privacy as the core principle and we don not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data or browsing history.

INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

  • • Your browsing history or URLs visited
  • • Personal information or user accounts
  • • Cookies, cache, or stored website data
  • • Search queries or form data
  • • Device information or IP addresses

HOW THE EXTENSION WORKS

History Auto-Delete operates entirely locally on your device:

  • • Monitors Chrome's history API for new entries
  • • Automatically deletes history entries in real-time
  • • Provides manual controls for bulk history deletion
  • • Allows you to exempt specific sites — visits to exempted sites are kept in your history while all other history is deleted
  • • All operations happen locally — no data leaves your device

PERMISSIONS USED

The extension requires these Chrome permissions:

  • History: To read and delete browsing history entries. This permission is required to detect new browsing history entries and delete them locally. Access is limited to your local browser history only and no history data is ever transmitted or stored outside your local browser.
  • Storage: To save your extension preferences locally. This permission is required to remember your enable/disable preference and your list of exempted sites between browser sessions. Only your extension state (enabled/disabled) and the hostnames you have explicitly chosen to exempt are stored — no browsing history, URLs, or personal data is ever written to storage.

NO EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

The History Auto-Delete Extension:

  • • Does NOT connect to any external servers
  • • Does NOT make any network requests
  • • Does NOT communicate with any third-party services
  • • Does NOT send any data outside of your local browser
  • • Does NOT use any analytics services
  • • Does NOT include any tracking code or pixels

DATA SECURITY

Since we don't collect any data, there's no risk of data breaches or unauthorized access to your information. All extension settings are stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

History Auto-Delete does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external APIs. The extension operates completely offline and independently.

UPDATES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we don't collect contact information, we recommend checking this page periodically for updates.
